The scent of death wafted into the air. For some odd reason the dark elf could never wash that blasted smell that always warned his enemies or even allies of the danger that lurked about. His slender form flitted in and out of the shadows, completely invisible to even a well tuned elven eye, and barely audable to those of creatures who were designed to see at night. Well trained by his breathren the dark elf moved silently and invisibly as if it were perfectly natural to him, which it was. It was in his blood. His accute ears had picked up the ruckuss of the wolves hunting and yet, his nostrils told him there was something wrong with these wolves. Not only was the scent of wolf and elf waifting about, and yet he couldnt sense the other smell mixed in with the wolf, thus he had to investigate. He quickly moved into the camp through the shadows, using his phsychic mind to ease the sentries attentions elsewhere as he moved by. Such was easy with petty soldiers, followers that they were. Passing by a few horses in the dark, he heard them fidget nervously figuring it was from him. He then leaned his back against a large tree within the camp, completely hidden as he tried to view what was going on about. He wasn't sure weather he wanted to get caught or not here, so he was silent now as he tried to decide, completely still so as not to give away his location. He had to figure out if he was in the mood for blood or not. He was feeling quite lazy tonight after all.

The guard on duty through the night while the rest were asleep might have been made to look another direction, but the moment the strangers merged into the camp through the shadows causing the light shield to shatter bring lines of light ripping through the shadows to light up the camp. He leaped down from the tree, his hand grabbing up his blade, his eyes searching for what was causing all the commotion that had the horses spooked this evening. He kicked a rock that was beside his foot sending it flying towards his partner, it thudded against the sleeping knights chest waking him from his sleep.
As the knight jerked upwards his hands coming to rest upon his blades rested on either side of him. Eyes glanced to his partner before searching the shadows as the light slowly flowed through them pushing the shadows back from the main camp to the trees, and rocks that were off a few distances away.

Alderoth watched as they searched the shadows. He slipped behind the tree pulling his crossbow from his back. A grin slid across his lips as he silently loaded the bolts into the weapon. He aimed carefully at the first guard's throat and fired before spinning the weapon over to the other gard and fireing straight for his heart with one shot and his forhead with another. He then quickly put the weapon back on his back, still loaded. He used his phsychic abilities to search the area for anybody watching and pushed their minds ever so slightly into having them search the other direction at the time of the comotion, although he was sure nobody was around and if anyone was there were few people.

The ligt shield that had been around the camp as protection acted in two ways, once it had been triggered that someone had gotten passed through the shadows it became a searching light that could attack. For it was a living light taken from a phoenix created by Amethyst herself to protect, and defend her people. As the light snapped forward from the shadows as if triggered to movement of action did it rush forward like vines wrapping around the three bolts that had been fired.
The bolts were pulled away from their targets into the shadows were they burst into flames, and if you looked at the flames around the three bolts did it seem like they were the image of a phoenix. Each bolt was sent flying back towards the direction that they had been fired from but now held a fire around it so when it hit the person trying to assasinate the group would they catch on fire.
The two guards had turned around hearing the whistling of the bolts slicing through the air when fired, their eyes followed the fire that was heading towards a spot in the shadows. As they hoped the man was distracted would the two quickly disappear from sight to inch around towards the intruder.

The dark elf sighed realizing this would be more difficult than a simple fire and kill, sneak in and watch what went on. All he had wanted was to check out whats going on. Now he had had to try and kill two guards and was now being attacked by some magical light and two men who had just vanished into the shadows as he dropped back behind the tree for cover. Luckly one of the swords he carried stopped the magic light from moving within five feet of him. As soon as he had stepped behind the tree he vanished into the shadows keeping a watchful eye out and listened carefully for any footfalls, humans were always loud to a dark elf, even the most silent ones, yet it was the opposite for the humans the drow had always found it was easy to sneak away from most creatures, it came natural to them and thus the elf retreated stealthly into the woods.

[(* That sword cannot stop things coming in contact with it, but you can say that it allows deflection of the light. If it manages to touch you and not the sword, I guess it depends on your tolerance to being on fire XD *)]

The two knights returned to the camp once more when they found the target escaped into the forest. It was night time, and there was many dangers in this woods for a stranger if they didn't know their way. So for now they would remain alert and await to see if he returned. As for the shield once the protection trigger had been set off only leaves on last triger besides resetting to a shield that wraps the camp, and that was a summoning teleport that would being Amethyst their whom they worked under. They moved to their horses did they begin to take the time to calm them, yet also watching and listening for the stranger to make another move.

Razz hovered pensively in the earth beneath the campsite. He'd disappeared back into the ground as soon as his pack had alerted him to the dark elf's approach, having scented the killer while he was still a ways off. He then proceeded to wait and listen the events above unfold in the rich darkness of the world below with super sharp ears and something else, a sense that existed to the earth shifter, but couldn't be named or truly described. At one point, he felt something cold and alien brush his mind, but it quickly moved on, finding nothing. The inner workings of Razzerarok's mind was so alien to the one that had brushed his, especially when he was earthmelded, that it had neither spotted nor effected him.
He felt something brush by his shoulder, and reached out absently to pat the ancient leather bound book that followed him wherever he went. As his paw caressed the petrified cover, he keenly felt the leather harness tied onto it, and his fingers continued traversing along the old deerskin strap until he came to the bound haft of his inheritance. Geoith's fang, the mighty spear of the mighty hero.
Above, he heard yet more commotion, and then, all at once, both the intruder and the guards left the immediate perimeter. When the humans were away, the wolves would play...
At the sleeping Julius's feet, two mounds of dirt rose slightly, and then, fast a vipers, twin paws burst out, grabbed his ankles, and in a second, the young man was dragged into the gaping maw of the warm earth, leaving no trace of his passage behind. Mounds of earth were pushed up under the empty bedroll, expertly mimicing a curled, sleeping figure. The wolves, too, disappeared, the paw prints of their faux chase ending abruptly in bare dirt.

The dark elf silently climbed a nearby tree before moving out onto a limb and laying across it so he didnt stick out like a sore thumb. His eyes scanned the encampment and all that went on within it. He hadnt wanted to fight them but somethings had to be investigated and people generally werent friendly to his kind, of course he didnt care to make them such either. He began to focus more on his senses, more hearing and sight than anything, the hearing becoming number one. He was greatful for those elven ears, they were very accute and barely anything could withstand their range and power, even the sneakiest humans couldn't betray the elven ears.
