Out in the desert was a keep famous for it's border patrols, and rangers who worked as the kings trackers. It was said there this was were the low rank Rangers were sent to work that didn't make it to be choicen as a Ranger Knight for the royal house, or one of the noble families. They were considered the roughest group in the kingdom, and known for doing most of the dirty work that was called upon to be done.
This place was deep in the desert, so was always hot with little water and food expect for what was supplied. So there is usually allot of battles that were known to break out in this walls over the little bit of food, water or shade that could be found. It consisted of a stable, keep walls, dining room, and kitchen and a barrocks for the Rangers, and one for the guards that stayed on duty there.

After hearing of this Isdor Keep the dark elf just had to visit it. The peasants he had so recently taken lodging with, bless their souls as they meet the cold earth and hell greets them. Their self rightous suicides causing such, so what if the dark elf had assisted in " convincing" them to do so, it was their own choice. He cackled at the memory as he then forced his mind back to the reasoning of visiting this place. The unrest here was intriguing. The assassin had moved through durring the day claiming to be a common traveler before slipping in at night, now he would find the leader of this bunch of rangers.

The keep wasn't really a village more like a fort for the patrol groups, but was more home like then most for some of the Rangers families were their not wanting to be parted. So there was small market places, and shops that could be seen in the south end of the village when supplies did arrive which wasn't often. Allot of times it was required that one of the patrols was sent to the capital or bigger cities to collect goods to be brought back to supply the rangers, and their families.
Keep captain was making his routes during the days checking the towers, and making sure that the guards were keeping awake. Did he note the stranger that was amoungst the people in the keep sense it wasn't often that people other then new recruits that came to this places. Yet to busy was his day to stop to speak to the person so he just noted his activities while the stranger was there before he disappeared. Moving on did he go to the meeting room which was to be prepared as a small court room to review some of the fights, and arguements that had broke out.
First meeting of the day was a fight between a ranger and guard over an item their wives/girlfriends had wanted seen in a store but there was only one left of the garment. he sat listening to their arguements that the other had been there first, his head shaking when he ruled that the garment be destroyed and the money returned to both.
Second meeting as night was nearing sense all the court meetings were held before dinner. The next case was over an arguement of an accident that had injuried a couple guards, and a horse in the stables. They were complaining the building was unsafe, and the workers didn't do their work well to keep the place up for animals or people to be in there. The other side argued that they had seen a fight break out that had caused the accident instead of the building being unsafe. He sat silent through the hearings then ordered that it would remain undecided for now till observers of the accident came in to tell their stories.

Alderoth took care to keep himself hidden within the shadows. His attempt to blend in with everyone didn't quite workout as he liked. Most of the people there were soldiers and so he knew he would be noticed. He had to do something about this, find some way to blend in. After a day of observing the workings of the keep he slipped out and caught stalked a patrol. When one of the soldiers decided to slip off and relieve himself Alderoth struck. Just as the man finished up he had a blade quickly brought across his throat, a gurgle was barely audable as the dark elf helped the man to the ground softly before quickly stealing his cloths and putting them on over his own. He found a place nearby to stow his own garments before sliding back to the patrol which would have a hard time telling the difference between men in the darkness of night.

As the court closed for the evening wit hthe debates not finished till more evidence was brought before the keep captain. He stood leaving the meeting all out into the courtyard were the patrol was begin to pour in. A list of names was handed to him of the group that had left for the afternoon patrol. Eyes glanced over the paper while taking a quill with some ink upon it would be begin checking off names when they stepped forward to makr sure all was there.
" Sir Renold? and Sir Caster?" he called the two high ranks first. His eyes lifting from the paper some awaiting their approach. The two more decorative of the rangers from the patrol stepped forward, then bowed before escaping to their quarters," Here sir," they said in unison. The keep captain nods his head to them making a mark nexted to their names allong with the pay for the days patrol.
" Leon and Marshall?" He called when looking up from his papers at the last four remaining there awaiting to be relised from their duties to get some rest. Marshell stepped forward did his gruff voice speak lightly," Here sir." then escaped towards the main hall were food was getting ready to be served. It could be smelled upon the wind. The captain lifted his brow when he looked at the one that he figured was Leon knowing his dreass well," Leon Lad are you deaf tonight I called your name?" he began to move towards him with slow steps. After handing the papers to the aid once more, his hand giving a wave did he dismiss the other two having marked them off as being there already.

Alderoth stifled a caugh as he murmered in a tired voice, " Sorry sir im just a bit under the weather and tired. I just need a drink and a nibble of chow and I will be alright. " He kept his head down just slightly to hide his face, and also to keep the look of being tired. " Is it alright if I get a small serving of chow and head off to the barracks for the night sir? I just really need some rest. " He stiffled another soft caugh before yawning widely.

The captain stopped his forward motion towards the lad then waved him away to the main hall," go on get some food and rest." he said gruffly before turning to move towards his aid now. He took the papers to sign off the last member of the patrol. He would watch the lad for a moment then shakes his head. A sigh slipped from his mouth when he looked at his aid." If it wasn't for his father, and families good history of ranger skills I wouldn't think twice of keeping that lad here. He doesn't have what it takes for this line of work." he grumbled some then moved away heading towards his quarters, and office to finish up some late night paperwork.

Satisfied Alderoth slipped over to the barracks, which of course was empty for everyone was at the chow hall and began personalizing his uniform. He made it more like that of the somewhat newer recruits, ones that had gotten to this place about a week ago that nobody really knew yet. He then moved off towards the chow hall, he was truely hungry and would definatly eat well tonight.

The captain of Isador keep settled into his chair, his fingers going through the parchements upon his desk. It was almosted a shadowed office other then the light around his desk while he worked. New orders for uniforms, and weapons were awaiting his signature, which recieved it then was placed to the side with the finished orders. He went to work upon the daily reports of findings from the patrols while reading over their reports, his eyes would glance up occasionally to watch the men entering and exiting the main hall.

Alderoth took to bed in one of the empty ones that had been awaiting new recruits. He then proceeded to go to sleep. He set his mental alarm clock for one a.m. and slept lightly. He would awake as the other men poured in, that was for sure. Just before he let himself drift off he gnawed on some bread he had brought with, it was quite stale yet filling and he drank some of his beloved black wine. This substanance helped him find sleep quickly.
